A resident of New York since 1988, Tim Culbert was raised in Japan and Switzerland and received his Masters of Architecture from the Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture, in Paris, 1984. In Europe, Culbert worked with Rem Koolhaas, Jean Nouvel and Dominique Perrault. He then worked for 11 years at Pei Cobb Freed, where he became an Associate Partner prior to establishing Imrey Culbert in 2001. Tim has won recognition in various national and international architectural competitions. He became a member of the French Order of Architects in 1985.

Celia Imrey attended Brown University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1987. She received her Master’s of Architecture from the Yale in 1993. Celia worked at Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, then William McDonough & Partners as the design team leader for the award-winning Herman Miller headquarters. She worked with artist Vito Acconci on many public projects prior to establishing Imrey Culbert. Celia is an associate adjunct professor of Architecture at Barnard College, and New York University.
