Lakefront House

Putnam County, NY

Tim Culbert spent part of his youth and the 1990s in Japan, and he developed a broad knowledge of traditional Japanese approaches to construction as project architect for I.M. Pei’s Miho Museum. 

The design for this japanesque waterfront house addition for New York-based artist Mike Starn draws from the knowledge of Japanese design. This design accompanies another Japanese-inspired home for his twin brother, Doug Starn.
