Palace Dobree

Invited Competition with

Dominique Perrault

Nantes, France, 2009.

The concept of this project rests on the preservation of the Dobrée Palace and the concept of trace. As an archaeological museum-palace the galleries are wrapped in a translucent scrim throughout, as a medium for viewing, a method of creating flexibility in the museum, and a way of preserving the still-visible museum walls beyond. The overall site planning for this invited competition is by architect Dominique Perrault.
