Japan Society - Zen in the 20th Century
1998-1999 New York, New York 71 works, primarily scrolls, in three galleries. The design aimed to provide a quiet, monochrome, yet focused exhibit using an abstracted form of the "tokonoma", a traditional display niche, and well cases. All spaces were either carved out or built up from existing walls.
