Musée Louvre-Lens

Competition with SANAA  and Mosbach Paysagistes

Lens, France

The new satellite of the Louvre will consist of attached single-storey pavilions in a 153 acre former mining site. The ethereal quality of the brushed aluminum and glass façade will create blurred reflections of the landscape that speaks to the mission of Louvre-Lens: to question perception and to teach how to look at art anew.

Imrey Culbert is the Co-Author for the building design and the Museographer for the project. The international completion was won by Sanaa, Imrey Culbert and Mosbach Paysagistes with a large international design team. Client is the Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais. www.louvrelens.fr
